Acrel New Product: ADW300A UL Wireless Energy Meter
Acrel Launches Upgraded ADW300A UL Wireless Energy Meter for Latin American Market
July 22, 2026 – Acrel Electric, a leading provider of power monitoring and energy management solutions, today announced the release of the upgraded ADW300A series wireless metering instrument, featuring enhanced display, intelligent phase sequence correction, and a dedicated 4G variant optimized for Latin American networks.
Building on the proven success of the ADW300 platform, the new ADW300A series delivers significant improvements tailored for industrial, commercial, and renewable energy projects across Colombia and the broader Latin American region.

Three Key Upgrades for Enhanced Field Performance
1. Dot-Matrix LCD with Customizable English Interface
Replacing the previous segment LCD display, the new dot-matrix screen enables full English language menus and customizable local display layouts. Plant engineers and maintenance teams can now view comprehensive real-time power parameters directly on the device, with flexible configuration options to prioritize the metrics most relevant to their operations. The full-text English interface eliminates ambiguity common with segmented displays, reducing training time and on-site operational errors.
2. Intelligent Phase Sequence Detection & Correction
One of the most impactful field upgrades is the built-in phase sequence detection and software adjustment feature. In traditional installation scenarios, incorrect phase wiring requires a full power shutdown to physically reconfigure cables – a costly and disruptive process for manufacturing facilities, data centers, and critical infrastructure. With the ADW300A, technicians can correct phase sequence errors via software configuration without interrupting power supply, dramatically reducing installation time and eliminating production downtime for retrofitting projects.
3. Dedicated Latin America 4G Variant (4GLA) with Regional Certifications
The ADW300A-4GLA model integrates the EG800AK-LA cellular module, specifically certified for Latin American mobile networks. The device already holds US FCC certification and Brazil ANATEL approval, with UL certification expected by October 2026 – ensuring full compliance with regional regulatory requirements for Colombia, Peru, Ecuador, Chile, and neighboring markets.

Comprehensive Metering for Diverse Applications
The ADW300A series maintains all core capabilities of the original ADW300 platform, including:
- Three-phase full electrical parameter measurement: Voltage, current, active/reactive/apparent power, power factor, frequency, and energy metering
- Multiple connectivity options: RS485 (Modbus RTU), LoRaWAN, Wi-Fi, and 4G cellular to suit any site infrastructure
- External CT sampling: Support for standard current transformers for flexible installation in existing distribution cabinets
- Extended I/O & monitoring: Optional 4-channel digital inputs, 2-channel digital outputs, temperature monitoring, and residual current measurement for comprehensive power quality and safety oversight
- Time-of-use tariff & demand management: Built-in TOU billing and peak demand recording for energy cost optimization
- Historical data logging: Local storage of energy statistics and freeze records for compliance reporting
Ideal for Colombia's Industrial & Distributed Energy Projects
For Colombian system integrators, EPCs, and industrial facility operators, the ADW300A addresses critical pain points in distribution retrofitting and energy management:
- Seamless Siemens PLC integration: Native Modbus RTU/TCP compatibility enables direct data integration with SCADA systems and factory automation platforms
- RETIE compliant installation: The no-power-outage phase correction feature aligns perfectly with Colombian RETIE electrical safety regulations for live plant modifications
- Distributed PV monitoring: Perfect for rooftop solar installations requiring bidirectional energy metering and remote data transmission
- Sub-metering for facility management: Ideal for factory zones, commercial buildings, data centers, and logistics parks requiring granular energy consumption tracking
